Abstract

Parametric design has emerged as an innovative approach in sustainable architecture, optimizing material usage, structural efficiency, and energy consumption. Despite its potential, challenges remain in terms of fabrication complexity, economic feasibility, and industry adoption. Previous studies have primarily focused on large-scale projects, leaving gaps in understanding its broader applications across different architectural contexts. This study aims to evaluate the impact of parametric design on material efficiency, energy optimization, and structural performance in sustainable buildings. A mixed-method approach was employed, integrating simulation-based experiments and case study analysis. Digital modeling and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) were conducted to compare traditional and parametric design methods, focusing on material savings, energy efficiency, and load distribution. Findings indicate that parametric design reduces material usage by 25%, minimizes construction waste by 30%, and enhances natural lighting penetration by 40%, reducing energy consumption by 30%. Structural stability was also improved, with a 20% decrease in stress on key structural elements. This study contributes by providing a comprehensive evaluation of parametric design in sustainable architecture, highlighting its benefits and challenges. Recommendations for future research include cost-benefit analysis, real-world applications, and integrating parametric design with renewable energy systems and AI-driven adaptability. These findings offer valuable insights for architects, engineers, and policymakers in advancing sustainable and efficient architectural solutions.
